7 vacation ideas for you and your Best Friends
“Spring Break” season is right around the corner. But in my 30s, it is just a scheduled break that happens in the Spring… Everyone needs a break from the monotonous routine of work and/or school. Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean we 30+ people can’t get out and cause (controlled) havoc with our friends.
If you are like me, when you hear Spring Break, you get flashbacks of late nights in Panama City Beach, drunken college students, terrible decisions, and crazy stories. The pictures below were from Spring Break in 2011 when we were all 20-21. This is the before and after of us trying to take a group picture of the FOUR of us. The people in the second picture we do not know, they all just randomly jumped into the picture… But that is the perfect example of Spring Break in your 20s. We’ve been there, done that, and thankfully lived to tell the tale.
Sometimes you don’t care who you go with because you are just happy to get a break, but sometimes just anyone won’t do. Going with the family is fun, a Bae-cation is cute, but nothing is more fun than going with your best friends. Going anywhere with your crew can be considered a vacation, but some places can be more fun than others. Give me Spring Break…. But make it Grown. Here is a list of fun places to go with friends.
A cruise
Unlimited access to alcohol, 24-hour access to FREE food, and waking up to a beautiful scene every morning… Need I say more? Going on a cruise with friends is sure to be fun and relaxing. You can spend your days lounging in the sun or going to one of the many different shows they have on board. Then at night, get a little wild by going to the nightclub or drink the night away by going bar hopping at the numerous different bar spots on the ship. Whatever you do you’re gonna have a good time because you’re out in the middle of the ocean with your best friends. What could be better than that? You may end up drunk on stage singing Bootylicious on Karaoke Night…like me. But that’s a story for a different post.
Las Vegas
There is so much to do in Vegas. Not to mention it’s not that expensive to stay in the nicer hotels. There are so many different shows you can check out from the Burlesque shows to the Magic Mike shows… No judgment here. You can also find multiple concerts and festivals going on at any time around town. You and your girls can go see the Vegas Strip, the Fountain of Bellagio, or the Hoover Dam. But let’s get real, the only reason to go is to try to win big and pay for the next Girls Getaway.
Miami
Miami is like the upgraded adult version of Panama City Beach. Although you don’t want to make bad decisions per se, you want to just be a little more fun and carefree. You want to be as wild as you were in college just with better judgment. Between the beaches, bars, and nightclubs, You‘ll be sure to find a way to bring out your wild side. Along with sightseeing and awesome shopping, this is sure to be a very memorable trip.
Beach Resort
Relax, Relax, Relax. Laying in the sun on a gorgeous beach with a drink and friends. That’s the perfect vacation. An all-inclusive resort with great food, gorgeous scenery, and limitless activities to try. Get together and try parasailing, jet skiing, or dance classes. My Best friend and I went to a resort in Jamaica and tried bamboo rafting and 4-wheeling and let me tell you we had a good time. Even if it’s something that you usually wouldn’t try, doing it with friends while drinking and laughing, and trying it makes it 100% more fun.
Cabins
You don’t have to be outdoorsy to love going to the mountains. The calming view of the hills and mountains covered with snow is always breathtaking. Plus, being away from social media for a little while can be relieving. Whether cold or warm, being in the mountains with your crew can bring on some of the best stories & conversations. And if y’all are up to it, you can drive up the mountains. The scenery is amazing. It will be something you’ll be talking about for years to come.
New Orleans (Mardi Gras)
Attending Mardi Gras with a group of friends can be quite an adventure. As one of the biggest celebrations in the world, Mardi Gras in New Orleans is a fusion of everything you want in a Girl’s Trip… (Get it lol). Even before the movie, friend groups have been traveling to New Orleans for the exciting Culture, good food, and music to twerk to. Have fun catching beads and dancing during the lively parades that fill the streets and events around the city.
Jamaica
I recently went with friends to Jamaica and a good time was had. Staying at an amazing resort with good food and fun with friends is the epitome of a good trip. There is plenty to eat and do at the resort, but also getting out and just experiencing real Jamaican culture, not to mention enjoying the beautiful beaches. Trying jerk chicken and Taking cute pictures on a Bamboo raft ride while drinking (and maybe smoking) in Jamaica is top-tier. It does not get any better than that.
